Ever wondered what it takes to be an Exam Invigilator? Could it be your first step into education?
As an Exam Invigilator, you’ll help ensure that exams run smoothly by supervising students, enforcing exam regulations, and maintaining a calm and fair environment. It isn’t just monitoring behaviour, it’s about attention to detail and offering support during a period of potential stress for students.
As a recruitment agency we look for:
-Experience working with young people (experience in education is desirable but not essential).
-A confident, adaptable, and proactive approach to work.
-A commitment to supporting students’ learning and well-being.
-A valid DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
Can this lead to a career in education?
Being an Exam Invigilator is a great first step into a career in education. It can provide important experience and insight into school life. Further to this, experience specifically within a school will open up doors to other opportunities. Many of our Exam Invigilators go on to become Cover Supervisors, monitoring secondary classes & gaining even more experience and insight. From this you can gain excellent knowledge and experience in a classroom environment. This can often give you that extra push to complete your Teaching Assistant or Teacher qualifications.
How do I apply?
Get in touch with us by filling out the contact form on our website. Tell us a bit about your relevant experience and one of our compliance team will call you. Exam work is obviously a seasonal role with demand being November or May/June time. However, as we’ve mentioned, if you start off here you could be on your way into the classroom before you know it.
