Adult Support Worker – Merthyr Tydfil

Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and committed Adult Support Workers to join our team, working in Adult Care Homes in the Merthyr Tydfil area. This is a fantastic opportunity to support and play an essential role in supporting individuals living in adult care homes to ensure they are supported in ways that respect their dignity, whilst also gaining valuable experience in Adult Care settings.

You will be supporting vulnerable adults to promote their health and wellbeing but also develop their physical and emotional well-being. Furthermore, you will be supporting them to complete general housekeeping duties which can include shopping, and domestic duties as well as elements of personal care. You will be expected to complete a range of records and documents for individuals.

Responsible For

  • What is required:
    • A relevant Health and Social Care Qualification Level 2 or Level 3
    • DBS on the Update Service or willing to have one processed
    • Complete a Social Care Wales induction and register with them within 6 months
    • You must have a full UK Driving Licence and access to your own car.
    • Due to regulations, you will need to be over 21 years old.
    • Understanding of safeguarding of vulnerable adults
    • Previous experience working within Health and Social care settings
    • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from seniors and house managers
    • Strong communication skills
    • A flexible and adaptable approach to meet the individual needs of service users

  • Provide personal care and support in a way that is respectful, promotes dignity and independence
  • Possess skills in basic household tasks, e.g. cookery, laundry, ironing and cleaning.
