About the Role

VES Recruitment is currently seeking reliable, compassionate and experienced Care Assistants to work on a temporary basis within care homes and nursing homes.

You will provide high-quality care and support to residents, working alongside care and nursing teams to ensure residents’ comfort, dignity, safety and wellbeing are maintained at all times.

This is an excellent opportunity for Care Assistants looking for flexible temporary work across residential and nursing care settings.

Responsible For

• • Providing person-centred care and support to residents.
  • Assisting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence care.
  • Supporting residents with mobility and transfers in accordance with their care plans and moving and handling procedures.
  • Assisting with meals, hydration and nutritional needs.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support.
  • Supporting residents to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.
  • Observing residents and reporting any changes in their condition or wellbeing to senior care or nursing staff.
  • Following individual care plans, risk assessments and the home's policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Working collaboratively with Care Assistants, Senior Carers, Nurses and other members of the care home team.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and treating all residents with respect and dignity.

Specific Skills

• Must be aged 18 or over.
• Must hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
• Previous experience working as a Care Assistant in a care home, nursing home or similar care setting is highly desirable.
• Must be reliable, punctual and professional.
• Must be caring, compassionate and patient.
• Must be confident supporting elderly and vulnerable adults.
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be flexible and adaptable to different care settings and residents' needs.
• Must have good communication skills and a respectful, positive attitude.
• Must be able to follow care plans and instructions from senior care and nursing staff.
