SEN Teaching Assistant – Merthyr Tydfil

Overview

We are thrilled to be hiring qualified Special Education (SEN) Teaching Assistants to work as supply in schools in Merthyr Tydfil. The ideal candidate needs to be hardworking and committed to their role. Further to this, Teaching Assistants may be required to work with children on a one to one basis or support them with additional needs. Therefore candidates are expected to provide support in various ways.

These vacancies cover planned and unplanned absences such as sicknesses, maternity, paternity and courses. Therefore, you may be called to work the same day and should be prepared for early morning calls.

Specific Skills

Technical Skills:
  • Resource Allocation: Understanding and efficiently allocating resources (human, financial, and physical) to meet project goals.
  • Project Management: Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Trello).
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze resource data to make informed decisions.
  • Scheduling: Proficiency in creating and managing schedules to optimize resource use.
  • Budgeting: Developing and managing budgets to ensure resources are used cost-effectively.
  • Software Proficiency: Knowledge of resource management software (e.g., Smartsheet, Resource Guru, Microsoft Project).

Educational Requirements

VES are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants in Rhondda Cynon Taf with one of the following qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant.
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
  • CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning.
  • CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 in CCLD.
  • Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social.
  • BA Hons Childhood Degree.
