  • All candidates who register with VES MUST have the below:
    • An enhanced DBS check which is subscribed to the Update Service or willing to undergo one with VES (Please note all DBS’ must be in the correct category and must state that you are working with the Child Workforce.)
    • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
    • Minimum of two referees, to cover the last 24 months of employment.
    • Complete our online Safeguarding course.
    • Have one of the above qualifications.

Overview

VES Recruitment Ltd (VES) is an established provider of temporary staff to schools across South Wales. We are one of the preferred suppliers for NPS Framework Provider for the Welsh Government! VES’ success has led us to establish three offices in Merthyr Tydfil, Cardiff and Caerphilly.

Here at VES, we are looking to appoint qualified Teaching Assistants, to work in schools in the Merthyr Tydfil area. The ideal candidate needs to be hardworking and committed to their role within the classroom.  Furthermore, Teaching Assistants may be required to work with children on a one to one basis, as well as in small groups, so it is vital that candidates can be open to various methods of providing support.

These vacancies are to cover planned and unplanned absences such as sicknesses, maternity, paternity and courses.

All staff and candidates must be aware of VES’ Safeguarding Policy and must follow all procedures to protect children and vulnerable adults. Educational Requirements

VES are looking for Teaching Assistants with ONE OF the following qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant.
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
  • CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning.
  • CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 in CCLD.
  • Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social.
  • BA Hons Childhood Degree.
